On my first day of trading Mike and Steph gave Tip 1 to me: Balance personal risk vs market volatility. Track daily (High - Low) to give you an idea of what's possible and how much risk/reward is out there.

On my first day of trading Mike and Steph gave Tip 2 to me: Have a strategy and know it backwards and forwards before participating.

On my first day of trading Mike and Steph gave Tip 3 to me: Know the strength of your teammates and your opponents. When you are long, your teammates are the buyers and your opponents are the sellers. When you are short, your teammates are the sellers and your opponents are the buyers. When prices are above the 50% of the day’s range buyers are winning and in a better mood and when prices are below the 50% of the days range sellers are winning and in a better mood.

On my first day of trading Mike and Steph gave Tip 4 to me: Know where you are getting out before you get into the trade. If you prepare for the good, bad and ugly before entering the trade you will be calmer during the life of the trade and make better decisions.

On my first day of trading Mike and Steph gave the 5th Golden Tip: Review the Economic Calendar before you start your day. Prepare for what you can ahead of time. There is enough to worry about, don’t get taken by surprise by forgetting to check.

On my first day of trading Mike and Steph gave Tip 6 to me: Don’t play in a market, just to play out of boredom or for the action. Make sure your parameters are there for entry. Execute when it’s there! Patience when it is not!

On my first day of trading Mike and Steph gave Tip 7 to me: Have a news feed or market news channel running to inform you real-time in case a geopolitical event hits. But just in case you don’t have one running on a particular day, remember that when prices are moving sharply, it’s for a reason; React now and ask later!

On my first day of trading Mike and Steph gave Tip 8 to me: Is your workspace distraction free?

On my first day of trading Mike and Steph gave Tip 9 to me: Is something outside of trading bothering you or providing stress and anxiety, when you sit down to trade? (Don’t trade today!!)

On my first day of trading Mike and Steph gave Tip 10 to me: Is your computer and internet working?? Put in an order way off the market. If you can count one-one thousand, two-one thousand before you see it working in your book, something is wrong with your connection. Have a back-up connection, just in case.

On my first day of trading Mike and Steph gave Tip 11 to me: Is your Execution Platform and charts working?? Same advice as tip above. If you can count one-one thousand, two-one thousand before you get a response, something is wrong with your connection. Have the phone number of your IB or FCM on hand to help.

On my first day of trading Mike and Steph gave Tip 12 to me: Trade Strong!! Trade Smart!! and Always Have Enough in Your Account to Trade Tomorrow!!

Whatever you decide to try; you can’t win, if you don’t play!! Prosperity is at your fingertips! All you have to do is grab it!!
