I sat to watch the local news the other day and the first story was about a kid who brought a gun in his back pack to school and as he set it down the gun fired and shot another student; no news about the kid that got shot just that the school was on lock-down. Have to get to the next story, which was about how a convenient store got held up by an armed robber; he got away and is prowling in your neighborhood. Lock your doors! Uh oh breaking news, a car chase; LA loves car chases! They have a news helicopter following along with the Police helicopter capturing the action. I'm surprised the next story wasn't the news helicopter crashing into the police helicopter claiming that the Police were crowding their shot.
No wonder why people are afraid to go out of their houses and try new things as all the news is about people being shot, killed, thrown in jail, bankruptcies, foreclosures, ponzi schemes and scams all conning us out of our path to success. Why even try? Its a crazy world out there rigged to only give the rich more riches, right? Everyday we are bombarded with negative news. I guess in some warped way the TV stations want to do us a solid and let us know somebody else is worse off and make us feel better that we aren’t that somebody.
In my opinion people give up on themselves too quickly when they try something new because of the constant negative chatter that tries to suck us in everyday. If it isn’t on the news its a so-called friend putting your idea down saying things like “you’re crazy; I have a friend that got killed financially trying to do that.” Don’t you just love when people throw their own personal fears on you. Some, on the other hand go for it despite all of the negative chatter but when times get tough and hard choices need to be made the business owner, rather than innovate, decides to short-cut and create scams to keep things moving. “Cook the books” so to speak only to find themselves on the news for conning people out of their money.
We say this to traders all the time that seek our help, “Listen to your body first.” It will tell you if it is wrong or right for you. If you focus only what others are saying, you will be running down the path of fear or greed. Nobody knows you better than you. Just tune in better. If you find yourself waking up during the middle of the night, shift things in your daily life. Once you tune in it's a great start but only half the battle. You need to learn from past lessons on how to get better. The best innovations have come out of failing and trying again only harnessing past missteps into tomorrows fortunes. Learning from past mistakes is the only way I have become consistent in my trading. When you are tested again and you will be, the next chance you get be ready and even dare to say: “just try that again on me and you will be sorry you ever met me”. If you want to survive in business or in my case trading you will have to make hard choices. Its part of it but when you do it right it feels great and you sleep great.
I had a past experience trading on the screen back in 2005 that I got smoked on i.e. lost a lot of money! and the lesson was so etched into my brain that when I was faced with that similar challenge this week, I didn’t hesitate and it saved me thousands!! It feels so good when you experienced it, learned from it and reacted without hesitation.
Whatever you decide to try; you can’t win, if you don’t play!! Prosperity is at your fingertips! All you have to do is grab it!!
